Shimla

Situated at an altitude of 2159 m. You may wish to indulge in adventure sports and activities like river rafting, angling, trekking and rock climbing, camping and golfing. A spectacular view of the surrounding valleys and a visit to the Christ Church , St. Michael's Cathedral and the Jakhu temple will keep you spellbound. Shimla is magnificently robed in dense forests of oak and pine, fur and rhododendron, and it is best to travel here on the slow train from Kalka.

Manali

This place of breathtaking natural beauty is regarded as the cradle of life by Hindu mythology. You can visit the intricately crafted Hidimba Temple , Manu Temple and Tibetan Monasteries all around. The hot springs of Vashisht and the picturesque skiing slopes of Solang Valley are other attractions. The closest broad gauge rail heads are Chandigarh ( 310 km) and Ambala (355 km).

Dharamsala

Dharamsala, where the Dalai Lama has settled in exile, is a marvelous Tibetan township where an entire cultural tradition is being nurtured.


Dalhousie

This Hill Station is surrounded by Oaks, Deodars and Rhodendrons, which still echoes the old world charm of the "Raj". Its colonial Churches, Parks, the spectacular view of the meandering river Ravi and Mt. Dhaulagiri are nowhere to be found. Dalhousie is 485 kms. From Delhi by road and the nearest railhead is Pathankot just 80 kms. away.
